Thomas Nast and PUCK magazine pioneered the flowering of editorial cartoons in the USA and the world. The WEEK magazine still has a few pages of them but they have been disappearing , slowly, for decades here. This tragedy can be reversed but will take vigorous actions by its supporters. Guerilla postering? Probably not hunger strikes, but everything short of that is welcome.

Helping the rest of us to understand the magnitude of the struggles we are engaging in, and the nature of the parties involved, is so vital to our survival. Our time is important to us, and when the essence of the most relevant events and ideas can be encapsulated in a single image, often at the risk of severe punishment by the tyrants and hypocrites being exposed, that is true courage and the gift that never stops giving. Thank you artists.
